Slowly, slowly I've been adapting myself to your practice, and that's probably a good thing. I took an interest in singing about the time I found your CD at the library. The only had Volume #1. I downloaded it and practiced with it haphazardly for about three years or so. Meanwhile, my interest in singing has only grown. Last year I bought the complete set and have been practicing with it and am now using all four of the cd's. I'm also searching for the next step. I enrolled in a singing course at a local college and am getting to work with a group of people for the first time. The time with the accompanist at the piano is a treasure. I've made some connections and will have a pianist to work with as I build my song portfolio. I want to become a jazz singer. I'm not sure what my next move will be but I've found that action, any action is usually beneficial. Thank you for your great service. I've had private lessons but your cd's are sustainable while the lessons are not. I'd love to get an assessment from you. I'd like to hear what you think I might do to help continue to grow and make progress as a singer.   • Coming into singing at a late age

    Ariella, I was going to contact Amazon about making contact with you when lo and behold I turned your cd over and saw your e-mail address. My wife past away 6/05 and since then I have tried to find something, somehow that would help me occupy my time other than work. Although I’m 72, I still work about 60 hours per week in the evening. It’s during the day that things get difficult so this past May I sat down and made a list of what I would enjoy doing, something I wanted to do all my life. It turned out that singing topped the list. I figured even at my age I’d find enjoyment in singing, since I do love all types of music. I started searching the internet for material and one of the first things I came across were your Voice Lessons To Go volumes. I found a vocal teacher here in Vegas who would put up with an old codger like me. Told her that my goal was to learn the techniques of singing and be able to do that for simply the pleasure of knowing “I Can Do That” and nothing more. I’ve really enjoyed my weekly sessions and look forward to them. However, even though I do the exercises given to me and am working on a few songs it is your cd’s that are the foundation to my daily (and I do mean a minimum of at least once a day) vocal preparation. I thank you for the fine job that you have done in preparing these cd’s. They are outstanding. That includes even the little giggle that you let out when you are speaking about the difficulty in flapping ones lips “over and over again”. I thought I’d pass on this pat on the back on and tell you to keep up the good work— I know I should have turned your cd’s over sooner, but— dick borghi

  • Using Voice Lessons To Go to supplement my lessons

    I bought the first CD of the VLTG series a few days ago, and just had a chance to run through it for the first time. I just wanted to tell you how great I think these exercises are! I have always wanted to be a great singer, but I’ve never been able to sing higher than my “talking voice” without my voice cracking or having to resort to a papery-thin falsetto. I recently started taking professional voice lessons, and I thought your CD would be great workouts for in between my weekly practices. I must say, even just go! ing through the disc once, I really felt my upper register starting to free up, and I actually nailed some of the high notes without my larynx moving up and choking off the note – something I’ve been battling forever now. I am eager to show my voice teacher your lessons, as I think you both have a similar approach and this product really complements my in-person lessons perfectly. You seem like a very kind and knowledgeable person so I feel comfortable and at-ease when listening to your lessons. You can count on me buying the next CDs in the series as my skills progress.   • Started singing at age 60!

    Hello Ariella, I have been using your CDs for several months and I am so excited about learning to sing. (starting at 60!) My husband is a classical/jazz guitarist and plays the piano also. We are getting a group together to sing and play world music, starting with some Celtic and Middle Eastern. I have two questions for you; how do you find the right voice teacher?     Hello Beautiful Ariella! I just wanted to send you a quick note to say an enthusiastic “Thank You!” for making a big and beautiful difference in my life!! I have used other vocal warm-ups, and most of them have helped me, but yours have pushed me to a new level of singing! My vibrato, stamina, tone, resonance and breathing have gotten stronger and stronger with regular use of your CDs. I think they’re amazing CDs, they continue to help me, and I recommend them to anyone who asks me about vocal warm-ups. I perform in a band regularly and the compliments I receive since using your CDs (around 8 months now) are along the lines of “your voice is so beautiful, strong and polished”! These are the compliments that I work hard for every day when I practice! I keep getting better as a singer and it’s so exciting to experience myself progressing at the rate I am- I know I have you to thank. My favorite CD is the Stamina CD and the breathing portion of the first CD. When I do these exercises, I can sing for two hours plus! I used to only be able to sing for 30 minutes before I gave out- huge difference! I also appreciate your tips and notes along the way, each time I do your exercises, I feel myself opening up a little deeper into the learning process…my body naturally responds to these exercises and goes a little deeper each time.     Ariella, I’d like to share how your CDs have motivated and improved my singing. Over the past 18months I’ve purchased each of the 4 in turn. Completing one to a level of competency before moving on to the next. Now I go back and continue the cycle finding new ways to establish a practice routine with your music as the aide. I am waiting for that 5th CD!!! Or better still ‘Specialty CDs’ such as one devoted to my passion … R&B It would be great now that I have the basics to run through some songs from Motown and Stax – focus on the vocal moves between the 1 and 4 which is a bit unusual; and the Runs that you describe in your BLOG. Something to consider — I believe Specialty CDs would sell well. Best regards, ….Gary

  • Can I sit in my car while singing your CDs?

    Last night I downloaded volume 1 on iTunes and I am very excited to fulfill this life-long dream. However, I hope that I don’t have to be standing to practice. I want to train during my commute; I can’t sing at home because I want to surprise my wife with a personal concert for her birthday. Will sitting while I practice hinder my progress?- Hector

    So glad to hear you are going to be singing for your wife. Standing is optimum for singing but second best is sitting straight and strong in your chair- no slouching.
    That is often how choirs rehearse. Good luck with it all!

    My dearest Ariella I purchased your series last year, after loosing my voice and my confidence to sing out in front of others. I have recently gained the top notes of my voice back again and although they are still a little wobbly at times my range had increased dramatically and i am singing in front of people again, much to the amazement of friends and family who never knew i could! Thank you for your wonderful program.

May I suggest pushing yourself further and going and doing some Karaoke or even taking an improvisational acting class? I purchased the first disc on Ebay about 6 weeks ago, and I have to say I’ve progressed more using your lessons than any other I’ve used so far. Your simple, relevent instructions really do work and I can really tell that my range and technique improved! Between the vocal excersizes and the breathing development I can really feel the toning as an athlete would. So, Thank You again and good luck to YOU on all of your endevours, you are an angel.

  • Success doing your CDs on my drive to works

    Hello Ariella,
    I bought the first CD just before Christmas. I began doing the exercises 4-5 times a week during my drive to work. Within the first week I was beginning to sing on key for the first time in my life. I have been working on it ever since and I can’t believe how good my voice sounds now. It only took 53 years.

    Hello Ariella,
    I bought the first CD just before Christmas. I began doing the exercises 4-5 times a week during my drive to work. Within the first week I was beginning to sing on key for the first time in my life. I have been working on it ever since and I can’t believe how good my voice sounds now. It only took 53 years.

  • Using your CDs for therapy!

    Hello. Bought “Voice Lessons To Go” about a year ago. Just finished lesson two today and just had to look you up and thank you for helping a 61 year old country boy like me. Using the voice lessons every day now as a normal part of my day of therapy training for my PTSD. To take the time to explain how this is working for me would have to be for another day if that would be of interest to you. Becoming totally disabled six years ago from an (open book pelvis crush with two body detachments and degloved right foot) at work. I died six times. I have a new life now going in a different direction and singing is a very big part of it. Looking back going forward i’ve realized I suffered from self made disabilities. Believing I couldn’t sing is one example of that truth. Wishing well to you and your family. God bless…. Jonathan and my dog Franky

  • Goal to sing with my guitar playing

    Hello Ariella, I just wanted to tell you that I purchased your entire 4 DVD set and have been using it in my commute back and forth to work (minus the 1st CD because I was afraid I might pass out while driving ((I do that back at my place))… hah! But anyway- I’ve already noticed a HUGE improvement and am super grateful. I can only imagine how much stronger my pitch and voice will get in a few months from now. I would like to eventually see a teacher in person because like you said it would probably help me improve much quicker. I have a very solid background in basic music theory and would consider myself at a beginner/intermediate singing level. My goal would be to be able to play with an acoustic guitar and have the quality and pitch control of my voice sound professional and very pleasing (find my own voice). I’m located in CA … are you in California? If not once I practice for a while longer maybe I can use your vocal assessment feature. Thanks again for the great lessons. -Keith C

    I just wanted to drop by and say a big Thank You for your work on those cds. You did an amazing job. I literally hear your voice every day especially those breathing exercises on the first CD. It’s helped in so many aspects of my life including speaking, singing and really just everyday life conversation in having a strong, confident voice
