I was thrilled when I was asked to try and review The Venta Airwasher- Das original.

(Being a blogger about singing seems to have it's perks!).

The truth is, there have been so many situations in my life in which I have dreamed about owning a product like The Venta Airwasher. As a, opera singer for years going on auditions and performances in dry climates, or over-heated rooms, I would have to fight though a nights sleep that would dry out my vocal chords-literally.

I used travelling humidifiers, stood and inhaled over boiling water, and drank and drank my water and throat coat tea and I still struggled with the elements of dried out air on my singing voice.

I decided to try out The Venta Airwasher in my bedroom since it has been so cold. I have been putting the heater on as well as the gas fire place at night to try and stay cozy.

Up until trying the Airwasher, when I sleep with the heater and fireplace on, I wake up truly dried out and have to turn off the fireplace off or get a headache by the morning. I will say it has been 5 nights now and I have woken up feeling much more refreshed; no headache, not dried out. I still have the fireplace running as well as the heat so the Venta Airwasher actually works. It is awesome! The only bad thing about it is that I don't have a few of them for all the rooms in my house!

I am torn between the various good uses it could get in my house between my: music studio, kids rooms, living room, and my bedroom. I think after it warms up a bit I will move the Airwasher into my music studio to try it out in there so that my students can benefit. Also, if one of my kids gets sick I will have to try it in there instead of a regular humidifier.

This is a great item for a singer to own. It both purifies and hydrates the air. Singers are so sensitive to allergies, dryness, and colds. All of these situations can really affect our singing performance. I think The Venta Airwasher gives the singer control over their environment so that they can rest assured to be breathing great clean, hydrated air in their own space.
